CDL Driver

Job Description:

Reposition commercial tractors and trailers on non-highway areas that have been designated for this purpose, including the action of backing trailers up to dock doors for loading and unloading. Shuttle activities may include transporting tractors/trailers to and from logistic/lease vendors.

Hourly Rate: $26/hr

Commencing work at 11 pm is a requirement for the position which entails working the overnight shift

Responsibilities And Duties:

The weight and distribution of cargo within a tractor-trailer can greatly impact its handling and should be carefully considered before and during transport

• Keep an eye out for vehicle defects in the yard and log them into the maintenance logbook (DVCR). Notify the D&S crew leaders of any necessary maintenance on a daily basis
• Retrieve a roster of the tractors and trailers owned by D&S, record the odometer, hub, and engine usage statistics for every piece of equipment, and send this summary to the lease provider on a weekly basis
• Ensure that the temperature inside the trailers carrying food products, such as cheese, chicken, etc., is suitable for the items' safe transportation.
• Make sure that the trailers required for unloading or loading are available for the warehouse team
• Be ready to assist with trailer unloading when required
• Maneuver trailer trucks to and from assigned docks
• Abide by the policies of Domino's with regards to the usage of Chocks, Safety Cones, and Dock Signal Lights
• Provide shuttle transportation for trailer trucks to and from the logistics supplier
• Get your trailers sparkling clean with our exceptional washing and cleaning services
• Assist with backhauls
• May be tasked with accompanying Drivers on assigned routes to help unload products that are being transported to designated Domino's outlets.
• Be attentive and responsive to the needs of management and chauffeurs
• Ordered to conform to the Domino's uniform guidelines without fail
• Attend every safety, team meeting, and training session as planned
• By implementing and following strict safety guidelines as outlined by both Domino's and the relevant regulatory bodies, we are contributing to a safer work environment for our employees and better service for our customers
• Attend a classroom instruction led by the Delivery and Service Team Leader, which covers the policies surrounding the use of the Domino's Chock, Safety Cone, and Dock Signal Light, as well as the Accident Procedure Policy and any other pertinent instruction information.

Complete Necessary Paperwork:

• Maintain DVIR booklets
• Use Electronic Logging Devices
• The task of ensuring the reliability of both the automobile and the product
• The incorporation of time-keeping and People Net systems have streamlined the process of clocking in and out for employees

Qualifications:

• Obtaining a high school diploma or GED are both valuable achievements in furthering one's education and career prospects
• The requirement is that you are no less than 21 years old
• A minimum of six months of reliable experience driving commercial motor vehicles is mandatory, with one year preferred
• A Class A CDL with an air brake endorsement is mandatory for this job opening
• To drive a commercial vehicle, it is compulsory to maintain a DOT Med Cert
• It is essential to constantly satisfy the established MVR standards for ensuring continued eligibility to drive a company's commercial vehicle
• The procedure requires you to undergo a background check every third year on the anniversary of your employment
• It is crucial to be available for a flexible schedule that may involve working on weekends, evenings, or holidays and being prepared for short notice

Physical Requirements:

• The candidate must be prepared to work in a noisy environment with loud machines when necessary.
